Carly Wouters project proposal:
create an art class that is available to people from the senior center as well as the people from library.
make a posters that give all the information about the class and post them in both the senior center and the library
the workshop can be held in the park and it would be nice to have snacks or refreshments
perhaps the class can focus on creating an object or objects that may unite the library and the senior center.
examples: exchanging gifts, environmental sculptures, coffee mugs or plates with information/decals
Seniors and Library attendees would create two books to be exchanged with each other and then displayed in the other's communal space...
1) One Student (or library inhabitant) per One Senior designated for full project exchange
2) Pictorial (subject based) lithographs created, Linocut Blocks/Speedball Vinyl manipulated to create a printed image from each party
3) Prints made by Otis IL Students acting as consultants for the formal portion of this project
4) Once the prints are created they are exchanged between the two parties and narratives are provided (the only information provided as to the subject matter for the print is the name of the creator and the print itself, narratively limited)
5) Books including both the prints and the narratives (stylistically manipulated by IL), are created and then exchanged
THe Bridge:
This project elaborates on the existing relationship and/or understanding that currently exists between the two communities, and through the process of exchange, breeds curiosity about the "other"...a neighbor which is both near and distant at the same time.

Neighborware- A collection of physical things geared toward increasing interaction flow between two (or more) seperate groups. For ex: Westchester Senior Center + Westchester Community Library + Weschester Park(?)
The content of neighborware should be reviewed under the following creative problem solving (cps model) criteria:
1. Problem finding- Choosing a goal or target
*Proposal-How can we increase interaction within the Westchester Community?
2. Research- Why/how does this problem need to be solved?
*Proposal- see WSC/WCL descriptions
3. Ideation- Various/misc ideas to be considered
Film
*Proposal- Film, Clothing, Environment, Gifts/Exchange, Ware Store
4. Concept- Refined ideas. More clearly purposed and defined.
*Proposal-
Ware Store: -Community Oriented space located between WSC and WSL, that functions as a catalyst for people of all demographic tribes to attain/exchange products and gifts (i.e.-clothing, movies, tea.) Flow conductor.
5. Development- Specific specifications of product or object being created.
*Proposal- n/a

the idea that twe are are proposing for neighborware is a motion piece for both the senior center and the library. The piece will show what each place has to offer, as well as an integration to the data mapping that we have collected thus far. The motion piece should be presented in a setting where both communities from both areas should come together and view it as a whole.
